2011 Green New Year's Resolutions

Is Green the new Black?

I am not a great fan of new year's resolutions. If I want to change something in my life, I don't need the new year to get it started. But with green issues, I think it is different. Protecting our planet is a long term project which requires a change in attitude and behaviour. I believe we can achieve this, a tiny little step at a time. And it does not have to be personal only. It can be achieved with the family, friends or colleagues.

We all need inspirations, don't we? So, I am going to share with you 3 of my green new year's resolutions for this year:

No 1: Purchase a reusable water bottle and use it! - I tend to purchase plastic bottles at least twice a week.

No 2: Buy local - I want to support my local high street more. Purchasing products from independent stores help small retailers with a unique offer to survive and usually involves far less packaging.

No 3: Holiday in the UK at least once in 2011 - 2010 was a bad year for me with too many flights abroad. I must try to find alternative transport or explore areas close to where I live.

Please feel free to comment and share yours. I will let you know how I am getting on.

Happy New Year!
